  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 350

  2. Spray or butter and flour a 9x13 inch brownie pan.

  3. Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl.  Once it's melted, whisk it together with the cocoa powder.

  4. In a different bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar and vanilla and then add it to the butter/cocoa mixture.

  5. Add all the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until it's well combined without over mixing.

  6. Bake on the middle rack of the oven for about 25 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

  7. After cooking, allow the brownies to cool before cutting them with a plastic knife.  (This is an awesome trick i picked up and allows the brownies to be cut cleanly and easily)
